Fiscal Responsibility’s Day Off

My friends, our nation is $20,000,000,000,000 in debt. That’s twenty Trillion dollars, and growing at an alarming unsustainable rate. So, who’s ready to give up their unneeded and/or excessive government provided services and/or entitlements?… Bueller?… Bueller?… Bueller?… Right, that’s the problem.

It’s not a new problem of course. Congress and the President have been ignoring it for almost 40 years, except for one year when President Clinton and a GOP led Congress worked together to deliver a balanced budget. Other than that, it’s been just lip service, mostly from our last President who blamed his predecessor for it while doubling the problem. Our current President talked tough about it throughout his campaign and has now begun the fight. I believe he’s up to the challenge but Congress is extraordinarily dysfunctional and one cannot do it without the other.

If we are just silent spectators of this fight, it’ll end in a bloody draw and nothing will change. Our elected officials do hear our collective voice. YELL!

God bless America! Please love it or leave it.
